Blue Ridge Mountain Vacation--Night One

We decided to go to the mountains this year for vacation.  James was one call starting Tuesday, so we couldn't venture to far from home.   We could have gone to the beach, but that would have taken two days away because of driving.  It was wonderful only being about an hour away from home!  No whining about "how much longer"!  It was a beautiful drive and it didn't take long until we saw mountains.  We rented a cabin from a rental company and we couldn't have asked for a better cabin.  I shopped around and when I found Bear Lake Lodge I knew that that is where we had to stay!
It was absolutely perfect for us!  It had a huge front porch with rocking chairs!  We also had a five acre lake with islands.  The islands had bridges that connected them to each other.

It was gorgeous!
We were met by a new friend the kids named Mr. Quackers!

He was the funniest duck and I plan on dedicating a whole page with all kinds of funny stories!

It didn't take the kids long to pick out their rooms.  Noah slept in this cool "Little House on the Prairie" loft.

Abby and Emma picked rooms that were across from each other!
I some how forgot to take a picture of the master bed room.  I did however get a picture of the jacuzzi tub and the huge window looking out at the woods.

The ceiling was so neat!  Beautiful wooden beams from floor to ceiling!
The living room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the sectional sofa and Lazy Boy recliner.
It also had this floor to ceiling rock wall that was magnificent.

The kitchen was just the right size! We ate most of meals out on the porch at the picnic table.

We got unpacked we headed into town for dinner.  We found this really cool pizza and pasta place called Blue Jeans.  Everything there was huge, servings I mean.  I was so afraid we were all going to wet the bed with our 64 ounce drinks!
They had this really cool picture that was painted buy the guy that illustrates Mad magazine.  He lives in Blue Ridge part of the year.
Our vacation was off to a great start!!
