Abby and Emma got some birthday money and it was burning a hole in their pockets. Emma has been saving to buy an American Girl Doll and Abby wanted to get a new dress for homecoming. James and Noah came along for the ride! Emma was so excited! She was so proud that she had saved enough money to buy her doll all by herself. Those of you that know how much those dolls cost know she has been saving for a long time! Today was the day! We got in the car and headed out. We got there and she knew right where to go to get her doll!
She ended up getting Lanie, the doll of the year for 2010. She also wanted Kit. She had thought about which doll to choose for awhile now. She said, "Mommy Lanie won't be available after December 31st, and I can get Kit anytime". So, Lanie it is! She proudly handed me her money to pay for the doll. The nice lady at the checkout asked Emma if she wanted her to take Lanie out of the box and Emma was smiling from ear to ear. "Yes please" she said!
She kept thanking us for bringing her to get Lanie. We were off to look at dresses for Abby's middle school homecoming. Can I just say that shopping with a teenager is about as much fun as sticking a needle in your eye! I told Abby that one time and she laughed at me, so it is joke now. She reminded me that going to IKEA was about as much fun as pulling your toenails off! Anyway, off to Macy's we went! I have learned to just stand back at let her look because everything I pick out she hates! Well, today I actually picked one out that she liked! She liked it so much that that was the one we bought! Yeah for me!!
The boys were such troopers! Noah had brought some money too. James took him into Game Stop to look for a new DS game. He found one and so did James! We had to go over to Town Center to pick up Abby's dress, because the Macy's at Northpoint didn't have one in her size. We decided to eat at The Varsity for dinner.
What a fun day we had. Really, what's not fun about shopping and naked dogs?
Way to go Emma for saving $$$$!!!! What a great day!!
